Description
[DE]Der Morsecode ist ein kodiertes Verfahren zum Übertragen von Buchstaben, Zahlen, Sonderzeichen und Signalen. Seit 1837 wird der Code im Telegrafenverkehr eingesetzt und kann als stabil angesehen werden. Für den Computer gibt es ein Projekt (Morseall) um mit nur einer bis drei Tasten die Tastatur und gegebenenfalls die Maus vollständig zu ersetzten. Ziel dieses Projekts ist die Anpassung des Programms Morseall an die Besonderheiten der Aktivities und Sugar auf dem XO. Zudem ist eine umfangreiche Dokumentation der Erweiterungen und Lernsoftware für den Morse-Code als Aktivity geplant. Eine einfach nachzubauende Morse-Taste für den Messeingang des XO und die dafür nötige Treibersoftware muss entwickelt und dokumentiert werden. Das Morse-Projekt ist Teil des XOAccessibilty Projektes.
[EN] Morse code is used to transmit letters, numbers, special characters, and generic signals. It is in use since 1837 and can certainly be regarded as a stable means of communication. Morseall is an application that can fully replace a keyboard (and even the mouse) while merely requiring one to three keys. The goal for the project is a port and adaption of the morseall application for sugar and the XO laptop. Furthermore a comprehensive documentation of the software and the morse code itself is planned as an activity. A morse key that can easily be assembled and plugged into the XO sound input has to be developed and documented too. The morse project is part of the XOAccessibility project.

A simple mouse would be enough to tapping the morsecode. Probably a usb-mouse is to expensive in the XO-project. There are other solutions to get a button working.
- Mic port using the mic bias (have a look at the oscilloscope-project.)
- GPIO from the SDcard slot
Don't know if it is really possible to use the SDcard slot. That would be a nice, simple and cheap solution.
