The microphone input on the X0-1 laptops can be used to measure voltage or resistance which allows for a variety of hardware gadgets to be connected to the laptop. Some of the ideas people have had so far are checking the remaining charge on a battery, connecting sensors for temperature, photo voltaic and other measurements and in the future maybe even robotics applications. The idea of our oscilloscope project is to design and implement both the hardware and software needed to turn the X0-1 laptops into relatively simple oscilloscopes which could for example be used in physics classes, projects or experiments.

Der Mikrofon-Anschluss der X0-1 Laptops kann zusätzlich zur normalen Funktionalität als Audio-Schnittstelle, auch zum Messen von anderen Spannungen und Widerständen verwendet werden. Durch diese Eigenschaft ergeben sich viele interessante Möglichkeiten, wie die Funktionalität des X0-1 erweitert werden könnte. Einige der existierenden Ideen sind Lösungen zum Auslesen der verbleibenden Ladung einer Batterie, Messungen von Temperatur, Sonneneinstrahlung oder anderen Variablen und in Zukunft könnte diese Schnittstelle eventuell auch für Roboter-Projekte verwenden werden. Unsere Idee für das Oszilloskop-Projekt besteht darin, die notwendige Hardware und Software zu entwickeln, um die X0-1 Laptops in einfache Oszilloskope zu verwandeln, die zum Beispiel im Physik-Unterricht, bei Projekten und Experimenten eingesetzt werden können.
